Reality Checking

Reality checking consists of 2 parts:

_

1. Questioning Reality

2. Reality Check Techniques

_

Questioning Reality

Questioning reality simply means asking the question : “Am I dreaming?” or “Is this a dream?”.

It means being aware for the weird things that happen around you and being aware of your
dream triggers. So you need to start questioning the reality around you even when you are totally sure that you are not dreaming.

Why would I question reality if I am totally sure that this is not a dream ?

The spooky fact is that 99.9% of the time when you are dreaming you are actually assuming that you are in the real world. Like, right now, this is weird right ? Is there a chance that this is a dream ? This post might not be real.

That’s what I’m talking about. Now its time to do a reality check.

_

Reality Check Techniques

1.The nose check:

  • Use your hand to pinch your nose
  • Try to breathe in

Do this now. Shut your nose and try to breathe in.

If you end up breathing trough a closed nose, then you are dreaming.

If not, continue reading.

_

2.The Hands Reality Check

Start by looking at your hands, now count the fingers on one of your hands, then look away and count them again. Now try to find something weird/out of the ordinary.

When you are in a lucid dream you will actually find something really out of the ordinary, line 10 misshaped fingers

3.The Reading Check

Look at some text(newspaper/alarm clock digits). Now close your eyes and then look again. If the text changed in any way, you are in a lucid dream.

_

4.Jump

Try to jump, if you start floating or you are in the air for abnormal time then you are in a lucid dream.

I picked the 10 fundamental questions with the intention to give you a clear picture about lucid dreaming. Here they are:

It is conscious dreaming, a dream where you know that you are dreaming. Once you are aware you are dreaming you can change your dreams and decide what will happen.

_

2. What can you do in a lucid dream?

Well it depends from the level of control and imagination you have and that’s mainly increased with practice.

4. How can I have a lucid dream?

There are many methods for entering in the state of lucidness, my favorites are:

  • Learn how to induce lucid dreams with the WILD technique for instant results.
  • Learn how to have lucid dreams with increasing your intent for lucid dreams.
  • Learn how to have lucid dreams by creating a reality checking routine.

_

5. What is the best method for lucid dreaming?

Synergy.

All of them are different and good but when you combine more lucid dreaming tactics you will get synergistic results – the sum-result of all parts-methods will be greater than the sum of all individual parts.

_

6. How often will I have lucid dreams?

Depends on how much you want to have.

Lucid dreaming is like a muscle, the more you work on it the better it gets. The more dedicated you are to lucid dreaming the faster you will progress.

_

7. How often do I Dream?

We have approximately 5 dreams/night but most of them are simply forgotten. People usually confuse not remembering with not having dreams. So if you think that you don’t have dreams you are actually just not remembering them.

_

8. How can I remember my dreams?

journal

Dreams are usually stored only in our short term memory and lost few minutes after waking up. The best way to ensure that you will remember what you were dreaming is to access your short term memory immediately after waking up and write it down in your dream journal. To learn more go to : Remembering dreams.

9. How can I prolong a lucid dream?

You can prolong your dream with using :

  • The Palm Rubbing technique
  • The Tornado spin technique
  • The Focus technique
  • The shouting technique

To learn more go to : How to prolong a lucid dream.

_

10. How real does a Lucid Dream feel?

Real as reality itself, the feelings are real as in the real world.

Did you know that your body is paralyzed when you sleep? This is a safety mechanism disconnects the mind from the body so you can have a really vivid dream and not kill yourself in the real world.

_

I hope that one day everyone will enjoy lucid dreaming and the benefits that come with it. So share this with your friends and give them a chance to give lucid dreaming a chance.

Every time you move the time counter for getting lucid is reset and you start again from the begging.

You will probably get URGES to move, thats a sign that you are on the right track.

Ignore the urges long enough and the body will start thinking that the mind is asleep, thus it will enter the state of sleep paralysis. (thats what you are looking for)

brain112271774193 ) Maintain Consciousness.

Know that you will enter a dream and just reaffirm that you are dreaming. If you fail to maintain consciousness you will probably end up having a normal dream.

One… I am dreaming

observe4 ) Observe the Weird Sensations ( hypogogic imagery)

After a while you will start seeing flashes of images, your body will start to feel really light or numb, you might hear voices and sounds, moving colors on your eyelids or other weird things.

This is totally natural, it happens every time when you are between sleep and wakefulness, you just can’t remember it. The key here is to stay CALM, just passively observe what is happening. Do this until the flashes of images become really strong and vivid.

5 ) Enter the dream

All you have to do now is explore the vivid images with your imagination. Use all your senses. You can enter some of those images and continue forming your story from there. Its best to imagine yourself MOVING ( running, flying, walking, swimming) and then explore all the sensations, feel the wind on your skin, the pressure from the gravity on your legs, the movement, hear the sounds from the street.

Sooner or later those sensations will become highly vivid and real -> You have entered : WILDWake Induced Lucid Dream.
