  • Gets better with time

Cons:

  • It is not instant, and requires few days of preparation for you to have an actual lucid dream.

MILD or Mnemonically induced lucid dream basically works by intent. You make your brain to WANT to have a lucid dream and it will do it. However this technique is hardly ever used on its own, most of the time you will combine it with the other techniques to increase the chances for lucid dreaming.

Pros:

  • Could be combined with other techniques

Cons:

  • Pretty much sucks on its own
  • You may find it hard to do lucid dreaming affirmations 10 times per day 🙂

This is one of the most potent lucid dreaming techniques. It is also used in a combination with the other techniques but this one increases the chances for lucid dreaming by roughly 10 times.

Pros:

  • Has the highest success rate
  • Really good combination with WILD

Cons:

  • HARD because you have to get up after 6 hours, stay up for 30 minutes and then go back to bed.
  • Using this technique means loosing sleep time

Pros:

I was reading trough the dreamviews forum for the last hour, going trough people’s first lucid dreaming experiences and here is a pattern that I found:

  • Nobody took time to explore the world around them after they realized they they are dreaming
  • Most of the times, they instantly tried to do the most “advanced” things. In most cases this was trying to have sex.
  • Everyone was having short 5 second dreams.

“I suddenly just realized I was dreaming, and quickly tried to have sex with the lady next to me, and I woke up within 5 seconds of becoming lucid.”

– This is really a common experience to all lucid dreamers, it doesn’t have to be about sex, it can be about flying or something exciting. In our first lucid dream most of us simply don’t do the warm-up stabilization routines, mostly because we don’t know how and sometimes just because we never thought it was that important.

The number one factor that ends your dreams is Shock

The first thing you experience when you realize that you are dreaming is a little shock and there is a rush of thoughts : “woow, this is cool”, “what to do now?”, “can I fly?”, “FINALLY, I AM LUCDI DREAMING”, “I can do whatever I want”… etc.

Questioning Reality

Questioning reality simply means asking the question : “Am I dreaming?” or “Is this a dream?”.

It means being aware for the weird things that happen around you and being aware of your
dream triggers. So you need to start questioning the reality around you even when you are totally sure that you are not dreaming.

Why would I question reality if I am totally sure that this is not a dream ?

The spooky fact is that 99.9% of the time when you are dreaming you are actually assuming that you are in the real world. Like, right now, this is weird right ? Is there a chance that this is a dream ? This post might not be real.

That’s what I’m talking about. Now its time to do a reality check.

Reality Check Techniques

1.The nose check:

  • Use your hand to pinch your nose
  • Try to breathe in

Do this now. Shut your nose and try to breathe in.

If you end up breathing trough a closed nose, then you are dreaming.

If not, continue reading.

2.The Hands Reality Check

Start by looking at your hands, now count the fingers on one of your hands, then look away and count them again. Now try to find something weird/out of the ordinary.

When you are in a lucid dream you will actually find something really out of the ordinary, line 10 misshaped fingers

3.The Reading Check

Look at some text(newspaper/alarm clock digits). Now close your eyes and then look again. If the text changed in any way, you are in a lucid dream.

4.Jump

Try to jump, if you start floating or you are in the air for abnormal time then you are in a lucid dream.
